Jongomero is a classic and luxurious permanent safari camp located deep in the wilds of Ruaha. The camp is positioned along the banks of the seasonal Jongomero River, most of the year this is a dry sandy riverbed which attracts a wide variety of wildlife. The main camp area consists of a large high thatched roof where you will find a delightful lounge, well stocked bar, restaurant and an open wooden terrace with excellent views of the dry river bed and surrounding wildlife. There is also a very pleasant and shady swimming pool, perfect for cooling off after your safari adventures. Game drives, walking and fly camping (a back to basics sleeping under the stars experience which is excellent) is available here.

Accommodation at Jongomero comprises of just eight, large, tented suites, built on raised wooden platforms, under enormous thatched roofs. Each of the suites comes with a flushing toilette, shower, double basins and a spacious private veranda which overlooks the riverbed. With a high standard of guiding, accommodation, service and food you are sure to have a fantastic safari experience here and the remoteness will not escape you. Our only slight reserve is that the wildlife is a little more skittish here than in other parts of the park but that does add to the excitement of each wildlife viewing.
