In arguably the best location in Ruaha, with incredible views, this is well worth considering, especially if staying in a tented room is not your thing. There are two dining and lounge areas, the first is a long banda by the side of the river. Breakfast is the perfect time to watch the wildlife meander down for a drink, while evenings can be spent around the fire pit enjoying a drink of your own. The second area is perched atop the largest kopje in the area, situated on a bend in the river, and enjoys commanding views down two sections of the river. This is quite possibly the best sundowner spot in Ruaha.
The lodge consists of 24 stone chalets stretching along the river bank, each has stunning views from a large veranda out the front, while the huge interiors feature a sitting area, writing desk and either twin or double beds. At the rear of each chalet is a large bathroom decorated with found timber, a shower and double basins. The lodge can attract some larger groups, but these are very few and far between so, If you are looking for a low-cost permanent lodge this is a great option, the location is excellent, the staff lovely, good food and comfortable rooms.
