With a reasonable amount of choice between different camps and lodges it can be difficult to choose, especially when there is no bad option (none that we work with anyway!). Kuro is superb for Tarangire, without doubt one of the best in the park and set amongst beautiful Acacia and Kigelia trees. The location plays a key part of being one of the favourites, being far enough south that you avoid day trippers into the park but being a very short distance from the Tarangire River and Silale Swap means that the prolific wildlife is never far away, walking safaris are some of the best in Tanzania here.

While this is a tented camp, with all of the positives that brings, there is certainly a permanent and secure feeling with the main area and rooms being made from wood with canvas sides, the best of both worlds. The six rooms certainly don’t feel like you are staying in a tent, each has en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilet and indoor and outdoor showers. Although this is one of the more-costly options in the park it is certainly one of the best, a sure favourite in the team here.
