Set in a 35’000 acre exclusive and private concession between Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park, on the wildlife migratory routes from Natron, Ngorongoro, Manyara and Tarangire, lies the Manyara Ranch Conservancy. Having just eight safari tents you are likely to be among only a handful of guests staying in the park. With the location between the parks, this high-quality camp can be used as a base for exploring Lake Manyara, Tarangire and the private concession which, has a great diversity of resident wildlife. The biggest draw for the conservancy is the variety of activities, specifically horse riding safaris but game drives, night drives and walking safaris are also excellent.

The camp is traditionally east African safari, a main mess tent for dining with a small but comfortable lounge and plenty of outdoor space with a firepit for pre and post dinner drinks. Simple, effective and everything that you need. The tents are very spacious and comfortable, all with views of the nearby waterhole, with en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers. For those that know a little about horses they will understand how expensive they are to keep and that is reflected in the price here although we feel that this is really good value for money. The horse riding safaris are not the only activity on offer although this, inevitably, is the focus and the experience is superb. If you like horse riding and want to splash out a little, go for it, you will remember galloping through the plains for the rest of your life!
