An excellent location on a promontory in the river bank, the camp combines Makuti palm roofs with Selous sourced paving stones and farmed hard woods to create a beautiful and comfortable accommodation from which to enjoy the Selous Game Reserve. The shaded swimming pool is a great way to cool off between safari activities. The main part of the camp is very impressive, a two-storey thatched building with a lounge area upstairs that gives superb views of the river with a dining area and bar downstairs.
The 11 standard tents are all pitched underneath thatched roofs with massive verandas giving views up and down the river, are comfortable and pleasantly furnished. Each tent has an en suite bathroom, with flush toilettes and solar heated water for showering. There are also 3 suites with multiple bedrooms and private plunge pools, perfect for families or small groups. Is this the best camp in the Selous? No it isn’t but it is a good option and at much less in cost than most other options it is worth considering if you want to keep costs down.
