The Fundu Lagoon resort is a remote and peaceful place, only accessible by boat, and set on a beautiful beach in the south west of Pemba Island, 30 minutes north of Zanzibar by light aircraft. Fundu is an idyllic place to unwind and enjoy total peace and relaxation, whether it be lingering poolside, enjoying the beach or perhaps a treatment in the spa. On a beautiful beach fringed by natural forest, the hotel offers complete privacy and the experience is both restful and restorative.

The hotel’s main areas are open sided with thatch roofing, three bars, an excellent restaurant and a beautiful infinity pool, set up on the hillside with beautiful views. All of the 18 tented rooms are en-suite with differing levels and costs including the standard hillside rooms, beachfront rooms and a range of suites. Each room has panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, a deck with loungers, in room fridge and fans. It is easy to fall in love with Fundu and difficult not to like it, we do wonder, however, if the price might be a little high but, there are usually special offers out there such as free nights, reductions and free upgrades which makes this a super option.
