Located in the remote eastern Serengeti, and only recently opened to tourists to allow the cheetah population to replenish, Namiri Plains camp is over an hour from your nearest neighbour – something that few other, if any, areas offer. This is big cat territory with cheetah now thriving in the area and lion and leopard hunt undisturbed. While still being a traditional tented safari experience, with all of the advantages and excitement that brings, there is more of a permanent feel here.
The main mess tent houses the lounge and dining area which leads out to the campfire, the best spot for socialising, sharing your safari adventures and star gazing. The eight en-suite tented suites are equipped with hot running water as well indoor and outdoor showers and flush toilettes, this is not camping as we know it! With a great concentration of apex predators and a wide variety of plains wildlife this is one of the best in the Serengeti and adding in the remoteness means a unique and excellent safari experience is ensured, we rate this camp very highly and would recommend this to first time visitors as well as safari aficionados.
