There are many adventurous experiences on offer in Tanzania. The concentration tends to be centred around safari activities, but the Zanzibar archipelago certainly has plenty to offer also. Activities available include snorkelling on some of the best reefs in Africa, diving, kite surfing, wind surfing, bicycle rides and swimming with whale sharks to name a few. For safari, there are several places that offer walking safaris, the focus is on the smaller animals and wildlife but no reserve or national park in Tanzania is fenced so you will often come across something much bigger. Boat safaris in the Selous game reserve are excellent, seeing hippo just meters from your seat is incredible. And then of course game drives, perhaps the biggest adventure of all, heading off into the wilderness, not knowing what you will find but knowing that so much is out there to be explored.
