There really is nothing quite like gliding silently over the vast plains of the Serengeti as the sun comes up. No pictures can do the experience justice and, even if you weren’t to see any wildlife during your hot air balloon ride (as unlikely as that may be), you would not feel hard done by. The experience starts very early, as you are collected from your hotel or lodge to meet at the launch site before sunrise; although the exact direction and duration of the flight are dependent on the winds, the average flight time is one hour, with part of the flight reaching at least 1000 feet which gives some incredible panoramic photo opportunities.
Following the flight, you will celebrate with champagne and an English breakfast under a tree in an unforgettable setting. You will then be taken back to your collection point where your safari guide will be waiting to take you on a game drive back to your lodge. Whilst undeniably an expensive excursion, this really is a once in a lifetime experience and worth pushing the boat out for.
